Last Day in FL, Exciting News

Here I am, sitting on the balcony at 11am on my last day in Florida. We have had gorgeous weather all week, and today is no different. Not a single rain drop has fallen, the temperature has been perfect, and there have been very few clouds in the sky all week. I am mostly brown with a few spots of red on me (due to an unreliable sunscreen applicator for my back). It has been a very relaxing vacation that I am not happy to say is coming to an end. The vacation is much like Barney Stinson’s mix tape of awesomeness. No highs and lows. You start high, and get higher. Here’s what I mean.
This week has been awesome. Like I said, very relaxing, perfect weather, amazing company, and just an amazing time all around. Throughout the week, though, there have been certain things that have made this week even better. First, I finally got my first call regarding all of the job applications that I have sent out, which is a relief. It has been mildly disheartening thus far to not have received any responses, so that was very exciting. I have a few things going on that front.
Besides that, I also got a supremely exciting email which informed me that I have been chosen to be one of this year’s Brand Champions for Sugoi, a great run/bike/tri clothing and accessory company based out of Vancouver. This means that I get a discount on their stuff and am expected to wear Sugoi apparel when training and racing. To date, I have a couple bike jerseys and shorts from them, but I will be adding to my collection for this season. I will be blogging regularly about their stuff, the Brand Champion program, and my experiences with the company. I will be completely honest with my reviews. If I don’t like something, I will say so. If I love it, you will know. I’m very excited about this opportunity, and hopefully it opens up a few doors with the brand. I will also have a blog through their website, but I will only use it to link here.
My Lent challenge is going very well so far. I have gone for runs every day this week, and am loving the fresh air. Today is very muggy, so I think I’ll do a workout in the pool today, consisting of a few laps and a whole lot of treading water.
That’s all that I have had going on this week. I guess the next post will either be from back home, or from the Chicago airport tomorrow if I get bored.
Until then,
Pete, AIM
